I'll tell you the solution to all three.
If you learn the solutions to the first 2 in order the 3rd becomes easier.
Car-
Step 1 Look for local auctions or special deals on older parts at a junkyard.
Step 2 Learn from a mechanic how to build an engine, transmission and work on other parts of a vehicle.
Step 3 Re-Build your Beater into a roadworthy machine.
Step 4 Repaint and customize it to your liking. If you want to modify it for racing, mudding, or special environmentally friendly fuels remember to keep it street legal for your state.
Housing-
Step 1 Buy a plot of land and a cheap trailer with a couple of shit jobs. Burger flipping, retail, etc.
Step 2 Learn to do construction and electrical work by assisting members of a housing pact. More on this later.
Step 3 Develop a plan that is up to the local building codes in your area. Make sure that you actually need a permit to do so, If you own the land outright you may not even need one.
Step 4 Visit home depot regularly to purchase lumber, sheet-rock, nails, shingles, electrical wires, fuse boxes and other housing materials.
Step 5 Make a housing pact with 6 other friends with matching schedules of Monday and Tuesday off. You all build each other's homes habitat for humanities style.
Step 6 Make modifications and additions as needed, no hippie communal living required.
Step 7 Learn to build furniture from lumber and fabric. If you want the home to generate its own electricity, store rainwater, etc. There are options for that as well.
Education
Step 1 Study all state laws regarding certification and state exams for college degrees. Many states only require you to pass the state exams in your area of study to receive a degree. The trick is that the exam certifies the student and the certificate can be had at a fraction of the cost!
Step 2 Use Google to find ways to educate yourself in the areas of study that you desire to learn, but remember to study the required math, science, history, and literature for the subject.
Step 3 Test out.
